How to find the square of number which is one less than the number whose square is known

Here is a formula by witch you can solve the problem
Let’s take a example
You have to find the square of 24
Say you knew the square of 25
Now so square of 25 –(25+24)
=625-49
=576 Answer.
Let’s take an another example
We will find the square of 49
We know the square of 50
Then square of 50 – (50+49)
          =2500-99
         =2401
